Job Description
- Deploy residential and small-business wired and wireless networks
- Build, wire and install equipment racks
- Wire networking systems, pre-wire and retrofit wiring
- Smart home technology, security, audio equipment, shading, projection systems, and TVs
- Installing and testing networking and Wi-Fi systems
- Connecting and bringing to life control systems
- Cabling/terminating
- Working with programmers to make sure the system operates correctly
- Reading and translating floor plan, elevation and other plans, drawings and documentation
- Communicating with project coordinators on job status and site requirements
- Working with engineering and documentation staff on development of project documents, including full as-built plans at project completion and many other duties
- Transport themselves and materials to and from project locations
- Responsible for maintaining the vehicle and its contents, including cleanliness
- Trouble shooting/problem solving skills
- Testing old/new connections
- Clean up job sites
- Recording and maintaining inventories
- Knowledge of construction techniques and wiring methods for new and existing construction
- Knowledge or certification with Elan, Savant, Crestron, Lutron, Control4 a plus
- Knowledge of residential systems integration including audio/video, lighting, shades, climate control, security, CCTV, telephone and computer networks a plus
Job Requirements
- At least two years of industry-specific experience preferred
- Attention to detail and strong work ethic
- Strong client service focus with strong communication skills and a professional approach
- Desire to learn more about the industry and new technologies and advance in the company
- Must be able to lift at least 65 pounds
- Must have a means of commuting to work
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be punctual
- Capable of being confidential and discrete
- Reliable
- Read and understand technical specifications, blueprints, schematics and wiring programs
- Be flexible
- Work cleanly and efficiently
- Be willing to learn new technologies and skills
