Job Description
The Lead Technician is responsible for installing and servicing products at customer’s job site. The lead technician will need to communicate directly with the project manager. He/she will also need to plan for and delegate task to the trim tech. Organizing supplies, product, and transportation of high value equipment to job site will be among daily duties.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all aspects of onsite installation of AV systems
- The management of van stock and tools as well as van maintenance and appearance
- Meet with Project Manager to ensure timeline and expectations
- Communicate effectively with and take direction from the Project Manager
- Review sales order, product list and scope of work prior to deploying equipment
- Responsible for all aspects of onsite installation of AV systems
- Set up, configure, program networks, control systems, cameras, and NVRs
- Demonstrate system capabilities to customers and make on site programming changes
- Daily updates to project documentation and work orders in job management software
- Daily job site cleanliness and adherence to builder site requirements
- Accurate time clock entries and job costing
- Make decisions and be held accountable to Time and Materials
- On call rotation maybe required
- Local travel to job sites required
- Provide training or communication to disseminate pertinent information as required
- Fiscal responsibility for all assets assigned and property within Technician’s care
- Customer service, including the ability to work with high profile and high demand customers
- Guardianship and preservation of client confidentiality and network/home security
- Adherence to state and federal laws, including adherence to traffic laws
Job Requirements
The Lead Technician must have at least 3 years of experience in AV installation or a similar industry. Must pursue continuing education on systems including audio, video, security, lighting. Must be able to read house plans other job site related documentation. Basic wiring and connectivity skills as it pertains to low voltage standards. Trouble shooting skills are essential. Basic computer skills with the ability to become competent with in house job management software. Attention to detail, particularly regarding key component placement & system wiring.
Additional Requirements:
- Flexibility to meet customer demands outside of normal working hours
- Must be able to lift and carry 60lbs
- May require standing or stooping for extended periods
- Ability to work in tight spaces & at ladder height
- Valid Texas driver’s license, clean driving record, and criminal background
- Security license or experience preferred
