Lead Low Voltage/AV Technician

Job Description
Install low voltage wiring and equipment in client locations. Includes but not limited to A/V equipment, racks, camera systems, security equipment, integration hardware, network hardware, low voltage lighting hardware devices, shading systems, telephony, prewire, and trim parts.
Corporate Structure
- Technicians report to their Project Manager.
- Technicians take direction from Senior Technicians and/or Project Managers.
Authority
- A technician installs based on direction from a Project Manager, Senior Technician, and/or General Manager.
- Technicians are required to perform their work within the standards of the industry and any pertinent OSHA requirements.
Work Environment / Travel
- Work involves installation of wiring, hardware, and other physical installation of products, as well as physical labor such as digging, trenching etc.. There is frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, sit, climb ladders, lift light objects (up to 70 pounds) and perform other similar repetitive actions during the course of the workday.
- Travel is required in this position and varies depending on location and client schedules.
Responsibilities
- Installation of wiring/equipment as directed by Senior Technician and Project Manager.
- Finishing project to Definitive Electronics standards (Fit/Finish)
- Ensuring work environment is kept neat and clean
- Responsible for keeping your work van neat and clean
- Responsible for the inventory on your van and keeping the inventory at specified levels…this includes getting orders into the warehouse for replenishment in a timely manner.
- Thoroughly reading block diagrams and asking questions if something isn’t understood. Installation is based upon the block diagrams.
- Update block diagrams with actual installation notes (red line) and give to Project Manager when completed.
- Understanding the overall project goals and timeline.
- Ensuring the parts and tools needed for the daily tasks are onsite, and on your van.
- Updating Project Manager at the end of work day.
- Asking for help if something will prevent you from being successful.
- Learning, is an ongoing part of the job as is improving your skillset to move up in the company.
- Requesting training when it is needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 – $40.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
