Job Description
- Lead a new project, with limited guidance, with pre-wire infrastructure for new projects and retro-fit wiring for existing projects
- Lead a project in all installation aspects, including trimming the project with various types of wall plates and terminations, installation of speakers, network devices, OTA antennas, hanging TVs and other various devices, and the finish phase which will include population and deployment of equipment rack, as well as communicating details to the project manager and/or assigned programmer for any finishing details to complete the project in a timely and efficient manner.
- Work with other office personnel to develop and implement procedures and protocols to streamline projects for greater efficiency
- Responsible for work vehicle inventories and communication for the upkeep of stock for vehicles and any regular-use warehouse stock items
- Responsible for updating office staff of job status, changes to job status, and any updates for scheduling needs and time needed to complete tasks on-site
- Responsible for coordinating with office staff for staged inventory on upcoming jobs
- Responsible for coordinating, most of the time on-site, with manufacturers to procure warranty or other replacement parts
Job Requirements
- Reliability and Punctuality are key requirements for this leadership position
- Reliable transportation to and from office location. In most situations, stocked work vehicles are deployed from the office.
- Proficient with most hand tools and power tools used in the low-voltage workplace. In cases where an unfamiliar tool or piece of testing equipment is needed, the Lead Technician will be willing to learn to use this tool with proficiency and be able to oversee other’s use of these tools
- Proficient with diagnosing and troubleshooting in-field equipment issues
- Above average to Excellent knowledge of basic audio/video wiring and connection practices
- Above average to Excellent knowledge of various control systems
- Ability to read and understand blueprints/floor plans for residential and commercial applications
- Excellent proactive verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organization skills for keeping work vehicles, jobsites, and office clean and organized
