Job Description
ACT is currently looking for experienced technicians to join our growing firm. ACT works on a wide range of residential and commercial projects. We work on all facets of the project from design, cabling, installation, programming, and training.
Job Description:
Pre-wire of various types of cable on new construction jobs.
Pre-wire on existing building which requires fishing and snaking cables in walls
Proper Termination of Cat6 cable using crimp and Punch tools.
Installation and connection of Speakers, TVs, Projectors, and projection screens.
Proper wiring of control systems including basic IR repeater systems to advanced Home Automation System using IP or RS232 Control
Basic to advanced programming of audio, video, lighting and networking systems.
Training clients on use of their newly installed system
Daily cleanup of work areas and job site beyond pre work conditions.
Daily communication and documentation of work to the project manager and Operations department for proper coordination. Local travel to job sites throughout Eastern Massachusetts (South Shore, Western Suburbs, Metro Boston and Cape and Islands).
Job Requirements
• Strong organization and communication skills
• Present themselves in the highest most professional manner and appearance.
• Solid computer skills for timesheet entry and job documentation.
• Basic understanding of electrical wiring code
• Basic understanding of home construction and process
• Ability to read blueprints and floor plans as marked up for wiring and installation purposes
• Basic understanding of audio and video signal flow
• Basic understanding of network layout and configuration
• Being able to work alone or in a team environment.
• Clean driving record
Additional Experience (Higher Level Technicians):
• Cedia certification
• Advanced network understanding and programming skills along with network certifications
• Savant programming experience and certifications
• Lutron programming experience and certifications
• Crestron programming experience and certifications
• Advanced knowledge on control system connections and operation
• Advanced troubleshooting skills
• A college degree or technical school certificate is a plus.
