Job Description
The Smart Home Specialist Technician Tiers are responsible for all aspects of technical installations of the following but not limited to; installing low voltage wiring, computer networks, security, video surveillance, audio/visual systems including projectors, TV’s, calibrate audio/video systems, configuration of Elan, Savant, Control 4, Crestron, and other control systems. The position requires the ability to troubleshoot and service sophisticated audio, video, and control systems problems from start to finish in new construction, finished commercial or residential environments. At times you may be working in various weather conditions indoors and outdoors.
- Complete install per F.I.D., checklist, and D-Tools hours reports
- Complete install checklists
- Correctly log time on job for each customer
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Follow company best practices and safety standards using all required safety equipment
- Adequately complete admin tasks such as time keeping, project documentation (pictures, notes, etc)
- Must be dependable, accountable and a good representation of the company
Position Location
This role is a combination of field work as determined by management. Office facilities are in the heart of Truckee, CA and Minden, NV area.
Job Requirements
ESSENTIAL TIER 1 ABILITIES
- Competency in pre-wire, wire terminations, testing and labeling
- Competency with trim-outs
- Competency in alarm installation, wiring, connections, programming and video surveillance
- Competency in audio video control systems, connections, troubleshooting, networking and rack building
- Competency in general construction building techniques, best practices, and applicable building codes
Training for this tier is done by experienced Epic AV personnel and may also include basic certification classes
ESSENTIAL TIER 2 ABILITIES
- Tier 1 Mastery
- Lead Tier 1 techs with minimal supervision required
- Highly experienced in pre-wiring, wire termination, testing, labeling and trimming out systems
- Proficiency in alarm installation, wiring, connections, programming, and video surveillance
- Experience building racks
- Experience wiring racks into a project
- Experience installing lighting controls & shades
- Competency with control system programming (Control4, ELAN, Savant, Crestron & Lutron)
- Completion of PCNA or similar certification
- Experience providing tutorials to clients on how to use products
- Competency completing system service orders and providing support, including properly documenting and closing out tickets in D-Tools
- Proficiency in networking
ESSENTIAL TIER 3 ABILITIES
- Tier 1 & 2 Mastery
- Highly proficient in control system programming (Control4, ELAN, Savant, Crestron & Lutron)
- Can engineer a system to be fully operational without supervision or assistance
- Proficient at training both Tier 1 & 2 technicians
- Competency with completing installation checklist
- Follows company best practices and safety standards using all required safety equipment
- Maintains project integrity by serving as quality control throughout the project
Training for this tier is done by experienced Epic AV personnel and may also include advanced certification classes
Job Benefits
Your starting pay rate will DOE, with periodic increases as determined by management. This position is eligible for a bonus program. This bonus program is expected to be paid quarterly based upon individual and company Key Performance Indicators.
Vehicle reimbursement will be provided at current standard rates as outlined by the State of California or a company vehicle will be provided. Standard benefits package including eligibility for medical with contribution, 401K, PTO, and holidays as outlined in employee handbook.
